Since its establishment in 1973 the Cork Education Support Centre (CESC) has provided Primary, Post-Primary, National, Regional and Local Professional development for teachers in Cork City and County. There are two hundred and forty Primary schools and sixty nine schools in our catchment area. The Centre is located on the Western Road across from University College Cork.
Our location offers us opportunities close to schools and third level institutions and is easily accessible. CESC is the host centre from which the Special Education Support Service (SESS) operates and we also are a base for the Reading Recovery Programme, an initiative under the DEIS programme. The Centre focuses on providing quality professional development and are in partnerships with many Cork educational institutions in developing courses and resources for teachers and the local education community.
