Dominic McEvoy Chairperson ATECI
The Association of Teachers’/Education Centres in Ireland (ATECI) is the umbrella organisation for the national network of Teacher/Education Centres (21 full-time and 9 part-time). ATECI has a vital role in informing and implementing national education policy as it relates to continuing teacher and whole-school community professional learning and development. This national network is uniquely placed as a pivotal link between the Department of Education and Skills, teacher education organisations and local school communities.
As Chairperson of ATECI, I work with the Executive, fellow Directors and Education Centre Management Committees to progress and enhance ATECI’s role. There are challenges ahead, of which I am acutely aware, but I am also convinced that, in a spirit of openness and dialogue, challenges become possibilities, and ATECI will continue to make a significant contribution to the development of teaching and learning in Irish primary and post-primary schools, for the children in our classrooms today and those yet to fill our classrooms into the future. This website is intended as a source of information on our policy initiatives, CPD activities and upcoming events. I hope that you find it informative and helpful.
